Kendrick Lamar - “Cloud 10” prod. by Nosaj Thing 

Kendrick Lamar is a 24-year-old musician from Compton, California. His diverse style has distinguished him as the West Coast’s most exciting new rap artist. Step into the studio with Kendrick and electronic producer Nosaj Thing to watch the creation of their original song “Cloud 10”. 

Kendrick uses his Windows Phone to go onto Zune Marketplace and listen to music, including his own critically-acclaimed album Section.80. Always writing lyrics on tour, The Pocket Voice Recorder app on Windows Phone allows Kendrick to record rhymes and melody ideas whenever he wants.

Stussy / Make Beats Contest

Stussy has just launched their “Make Beats” contest with Low End Theory and Teenage Engineering! Take a peek at Nosaj Thing, Gaslamp Killer, and Pollyn jamming together.

Make Beats will run until 9/14/11 and is open to everyone around the globe. All beats must be submitted by 9/14/11 to be considered for the contest. The winner will be chosen by a committee from Stussy, Low End Theory and Teenage Engineering and announced on 9/20/11. Contest rules include one entry per artist, who can use anything to make an ORIGINAL instrumental beat, at least 2 minutes in length. The winner will receive the release of their EP, paid travel to Los Angeles to perform at the Low End Theory event, a Teenage Engineering OP-1 portable synthesizer and a box of fresh Stussy gear.

Nosaj Thing vs. Aalto @ LUNCHMEAT 2010

Show of “Nosaj Thing & Aalto” at Lunchmeat Festival 2010 hold in MeetFactory = the best club and art space in Prague / Czech republic.

Romain Tardy alias Aalto spent 14 days before the performance in the first Lunchmeat’s art residency. He prepared the stage design and unique visual show for Nosaj Thing. Small team of carpenters helped him to construct the wooden base, which was coveder by more than 500 polystyrene triangles.

It’s been just over 1 year since he 1st premiered his visual show @ Red Bull Megahurtz in Montréal, where it was officially still in beta, but Nosaj Thing has been diligently refining it with the close assistance of one miss Julia Tsao.

Regardless, released just a few days back, here’s Nosaj Thing’s performance as it was witnessed and presented @ the Swiss Mapping Festival.

Pollyn - “Other Side” (Nosaj Thing Remix)

Pollyn may be best known for their remixes of Gorillaz, HEALTH, and Liquid Liquid, but on the band’s fourth and final remix EP, Shake Out the Other Way, it’s the LA trio’s own creations that are getting the old rerub. Here, LA’s reigning king of glitch-hop, Nosaj Thing, turns in a turned down and diced-to-bits refix of one of Pollyn’s gloomiest tunes, “Other Side.” Pollyn’s Shake EP arrives August 31 with more re-fried funk from Freddie Gibbs, James Pants, Them Jeans and Exile.
